The word emerald comes from the Old French “Esmeralde”, which is derived from the Latin “smaragdus”. Since ancient times, the Emerald has soothed the soul and inspired the imagination with its lush green hue. The color green has intrigued the imagination and minds of people since ancient times. Pliny the Elder described the emerald in his Natural History as “nothing greener”. He also described the use of the emerald by early lapidaries as a way to restore their eyesight by looking at it. Even today, the color green is associated with relief from eye strain and stress reduction. Legend also has it that the emerald was one of the four precious stones given by God to King Solomon. These four stones are said to have given the king power over all creation.
This apartment, renovated in March 2025, is located on the first floor of a quiet late 18th century building on Via Salvator Rosa, in the famous Avvocata district, a few meters from the historic center of Naples and a short distance from the residential area of Vomero. Located near bus stops and a very short distance from the Salvator Rosa L1 metro station and 10 minutes from the Montesanto funicular. Lo Smeraldo has its own independent door which is accessed via the sturdy and ancient door of the entire structure. The opening of its door is equipped with a home automation entrance with keypad, badge or telephone app. It consists of a bedroom furnished in an essential and practical way with a comfortable double bed with memory foam mattress and topper and a bedroom with a living kitchen with induction hob, microwave oven, fridge, kettle, ESE pod coffee machine. In addition, in the bedroom we will find a king-size double sofa bed, with a 17 cm mattress to be able to rest excellently, after spending days discovering the Neapolitan capital. In the apartment we also find a spacious wardrobe, a 55″ flat-screen LCD smart TV, a Yale safe and heat pump air conditioners in every room.
The private bathroom is equipped with Grohe taps, with a spacious shower, electric heated towel rail and hairdryer and is not a blind bathroom but has a large window.

The apartment overlooks a balcony and three windows on a quiet area. The fixtures are completed with original wooden shields of the time and finely restored which offer excellent sound and light insulation for the night hours.
